Baptisms at St. Mark's
Your interest in Baptism suggests that you are not only blessed with the privilege of sharing your life with a child, you recognize that you have a responsibility to nurture the spiritual development of this new life. The people of St. Mark's United Church congratulate you and offer to support you in this most important undertaking.

Baptism is one of the two sacraments of the United Church of Canada. The other is Holy Communion (The Lord's Supper).  Sacraments are outer, visible signs of inward realities. In baptism we are affirming that we are already loved by God from even before our birth!  Our identity as children of God is proclaimed as we are marked as members of the body of Christ.

Baptisms take place during the Sunday morning worship service to affirm our understanding that we are baptized into the Body of Christ.  In other words, we are baptized into a loving community in which we support and nurture one another in Christ’s name.

There is no age requirement and no age limit on baptism. A person of any age is welcome to be a candidate for baptism.  Anyone desiring baptism for themselves or for their children is welcome to contact the minister to set up a time to meet.  You are welcome to request baptism whether or not you are a member of St. Mark’s.  We seek to honour the Spirit’s leading that prompted you to contact us.
